Couple random things this time. Here's the first appearance of Faye in strip #3, only redrawn in my current style for the QC book:

Well, according to Urban Dictionary:

1. Acronym for "Fucked Up The Ass" (unlikely)
2. Federal Unemployment Tax Act. (even more unlikely)
3. short for futanari, which, in the hentai community, is a dick girl. A being that has the body of a female and the genetelia of a stallion. (I'm guessing this one)

She certainly doesn't look proud of that shirt, that's for sure... I don't know if I would be ASHAMED of such a shirt... at least it doesn't say "I <3 Futanari!"

Of course, even that wouldn't be SHAME worthy, but it would certainly make for an interesting conversational piece. At least, among those who both know what it is and are comfortable discussing such things ;)

Question on the re-draws. So far I've seen you redo the first three. Did you just decide the heck with it and you're doing all of the first [however many]? Or is it just that these first few don't have hi-res versions?

Top Webcomic

Just trying to let people know that Washington Post is voting for the top Webcomic of the decade and QC is in the finals (although trailing to the likes of Penny Arcade). I believe that if more people knew about it they'd vote so you may want to make an announcement and we should be able to bring Questionable Content up from it's 3-way-tie for 8th place up to at least the top 5.

one of the things I love in a comic compilation is watching the art style evolve over time. I wonder why you are redrawing the early ones. I was going to ask in twitter, but I didn't think you'd see it there.

I wish you weren't. I mean, I'll buy the book anyway, but it is kind of sad.

I'm pretty sure that the originals are going to be printed alongside the re-draws - it's just that Jeph doesn't have the high rez versions of a few of the originals, so he's redrawing those.

Wow, I always thought that Faye started out skinny and gained weight over the course of the story. I guess I was wrong, and it's just a change in art style.

I noticed that, as well... I assumed that Jeph just decided he'd rather have a curvy indie girl than a skinny one, and slowly transitioned her over... But I never gave it much thought.

So, Faye changed clothes for the re-draw, too?

In the original, I took the outfit to be a purple shirt (which is the same in the re-draw... mostly) tucked into black jeans with a studded belt.

Damn it, I want the belt back! It proclaims, "I am sassy, do not fuck with me."
