QC Drawing Video Adventure

A lot of webcomics people have been posting videos of them making their comics, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. This is the first one I got to record properly all the way through. You should probably read #1209 first to see the finished product!

Here's the first couple minutes:

And here's the rest (had an internet hiccup that interrupted the recording):

I never realized how FAST I drew before watching bits and pieces of this. No wonder people always comment on it when I do sketches at conventions.

It is a LOT easier when you put a loose sketch down on paper first and scan it in to work from. So very much.

this is so wicked awesome jeph. i happened to catch the link when you did it live the other night and i was completely mesmorized watching you draw and then shade and color the characters. maybe someday i'll be able to get to a live event and see it in person, but this was as close as i can get for now. very cool. :)

My questions is what did you use to do the screen capture?

i'm confused; on my friends update page this shows up instead of the first vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAhb06Z8N1c&eurl=http://lj-toys.com/?journalid=911252&moduleid=4&preview=&auth_token=sessionless:1218740400:embedcontent:
as for the 2nd vid, nothing shows up. then i click to make a comment and the drawing vids are there. wtf? my lj is barocken (that's the best i could come up with, leave me a lone)

I have had that happen on other videos folks have posted as well, I just chalked it up to LJ weirdness.

When I go to my friends page here on LJ, both videos play automatically. Huh. Weird. Still though, it was fun to watch!

Could you upload it somewhere I can download it, like Youtube or revver? I have dial-up, and I want to make it count.

If not, that's fine.

Totally unrelated but are you going to be in Seattle for PAX by any chance?

Hi, this is an odd request, but you had a comment up about a band, I think it was the m80s or something similar, and I liked it, and now I can't find it - there was a vid on youtube with a girl in a ghost costume flying on her bike?

Tropical Storm

I'd like to direct your attention to tropical storm Fay. It hit Florida four times. I heard this and could not stop laughing. Which is horrible, and I totally blame QC.

I, too, thought of this when Fay hit.

Tré neat!

Just had to stop by to comment because today, at 11 a.m. CST, I finished reading all archived QC comics. I was a bit saddened when I hit the Next button and nothing happened.

And to comment on something you wrote in the newsfeed ages ago: Hampshire is Shaggy, UMass is Scooby, Amherst is Fred, Smith is Velma and Mt. Holyoke is Daphne. I'm a Scoob. :)

Keep up the awesome work.

August 28th comic

I'm wondering if hannelore is reacting to "eww please tell me people don't actually do that" as in oral sex; and that's where her brain shut down and didn't hear anything else, or really the eating poop thing...LOL

SO that was surprisingly nifty to watch. I didn't get to see all of it cause I had to get ready for work. I hadn't noticed that you do all the perspective and vanishing points and such!
Do use one of the computer art pads? My husband keeps threatening to get me one but computers and I don't get along so well. Although the idea of being able to adjust and re-size stuff with out redrawing all of it is really tempting!
Also thank you for a wonderful comic! :)

Holy crap you're in Florida!

It's too bad you didn't come sooner, if you like the birdies then there's a guy who does a tour on his private property once a year on Labor Day and it's the coolest thing ever for teh wildlife.

Also, Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge is made of awesome.

Also, also, fun video! :D

Just wanted to let you know that I like the way you're doing Dora's hair lately. It's definitely showing a difference between her hairstyle and Martens without going too much outside her personality.

Dude, I have to ask: what's going on with the shape of the ladies' bosoms?
First Hanners' started pointing upwards like a sideways DQ soft serve cone, complete with swirl...
Now Faye's?

Are you preparing to market a new line of anti-gravity undergarments that we need to be aware of?

So much effort! I wonder how you have the time to do a daily one of these and still get everything else done!

Well done though, I'd die without my daily dose of QC :)
